This policy describes how HELLOVE (“we,” “us”) handles personal information in the mobile app and related services. Have legal counsel review before final App Store / Play submission.
1. Who we are
HELLOVE operates the HELLOVE mobile application and website at hellove.app. For privacy questions contact support@hellove.co.
2. Information we collect
- Account & profile: phone number, email (if provided), name, date of birth, photos, video, bio, preferences, intent, and other profile fields you submit during onboarding or edits.
- Verification: selfie and government ID images processed for identity verification (via our verification provider).
- Location: approximate or precise location when you enable Nearby or location-based features (device permission required).
- Usage & device: app interactions, push notification tokens, crash/diagnostic data when error reporting is enabled.
- Messages: content you send through in-app chat and related features.
- Payments: subscription status and purchase metadata from Apple/Google (we do not receive full payment card numbers).
3. How we use information
- Provide matching, chat, verification, subscriptions, and safety features.
- Authenticate your account and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Send service-related SMS (e.g. OTP via our messaging provider) and push notifications you opt into.
- Improve reliability, security, and product experience.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
4. Service providers
We use trusted processors, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Twilio — SMS delivery for verification codes.
- Didit — identity verification workflows.
- RevenueCat — in-app subscription management.
- Sentry (when enabled) — crash and error reporting.
- Apple / Google — app distribution and in-app purchases.
Providers process data under their terms and our instructions where applicable.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with providers above, with other members per your profile and product settings (e.g. discovery), when you report or block users, and when required by law or to protect safety.
6. Retention
We retain information while your account is active and as needed for legal, safety, and operational purposes. You may request account deletion by contacting support@hellove.co; some data may be retained where required by law.
7. Your choices
- Update profile data in the app.
- Control location and notification permissions in device settings.
- Cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.
- Contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information subject to applicable law.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of dating, location, and verification data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children
HELLOVE is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
